Advice for all types of presentations

Any information which is imparted from a person to an audience – which could comprise 2 people or 2,000 – is termed a presentation and needs the discipline of the professional stage to deliver a memorable message.

Techniques to enhance presentations included:

  • Disciplined and creative use of the voice.
  • Control of gestures and body language – stillness is power.
  • Careful interpretation and communication of the information within the presentation.
  • Correct use of slides/power point/video – this is a skill in itself.
  • Understanding the audience and its attention span.
  • Writing with style.
  • Playing the role with confidence.

This short course polished skills and taught new ones, using the skills of the performing arts.
